«Excavations undertaken in 1959 by the Iraq Directorate of Antiquities on the Rania plain produced evidence of Sumerian influence here at the time of the Third Dynasty of Ur, administrative texts having been found which were furnished with the seal of Ibbi-Sin.» [J. Læssøe,People of Ancient Assyria, 1963, p. 126 n. 1] ------
«An Ur III tablet dated to the reign of Ibbi-Sin was found by Iraqi archaeologists on Tell Brusti close to Shemshara (van Dijk / Laessoe, personal comm.).» [J. Eidem, Shemshara Archives 2, p. 13 n. 6] ------
According to personal communication (29 June 2020) from Jasper Eidem to Rune Ruttenberg and his team, the reference given to Tell Brusti in Eidem 1992:13 is incorrect, being Durgidkhan the actual provenance of this and other tablets dated to Ibbi-Suen's reign: «...the information on tablets from there was a misunderstanding. The Ur III tablets (probably just a few - unpublished) with dates of Ibbi-Sin were found at the site of Durgidkan - southwest of Shemshara. The tablets are mentioned in Læssøe's book "People of Ancient Assyria" - which is available as a pdf on the web - but without mention of the name of the site - which, however, I found in Læssøe's private papers." [Jesper Eidem personal communication 29 June 2020 to Caroline Johansson]. The coordinates for Durgidkhan used in BDTNS have been kindly provided by Rune Ruttenborg (2020.10.21). Cf.
